Winter activities in the valley and on the mountain

From geocaching to curling and tobogganing to horse-drawn sleigh rides

Fast sledding for the whole family. In the Hochkönig region, winter shows itself from its most beautiful sides. One of these sides reveals itself when tobogganing on the numerous and perfectly prepared, partly illuminated toboggan runs. A perfect change to skiing for the whole family!

Geocaching is a modern and worldwide popular digital treasure hunt for young and old. The basic idea is to find, trade and collect the hidden caches. The best way to do this is to equip yourself with a GPS device and go on an exciting treasure hunt along the Königstour and off-piste during winter hiking. If you prefer to search for caches in summer, no problem - the vacation region even offers a carefree package that combines hiking and geocaching perfectly.

Curling and afterwards on the carriage through the region

The somewhat more leisurely, but at least equally exciting activity for geocaching and tobogganing is definitely curling - here it depends more on the aim and concentration of the shooter. And what better way to combine this than a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride through the snow-covered mountain landscape of the Hochkönig.

An equally popular activity for young and old is ice skating. In Maria Alm, locals and guests can pursue this leisure activity at any time. When entering the town, take the first fork in the road to the left in the direction of Wirtschaftshof and you will find the ice skating rink on the left-hand side. Ice skates are available at AGA Sport und Sport Löb directly in Maria Alm.
