The Hochkönigroas is one of the most popular summer hikes in the country and attracts countless guests to Maria Alm, Dienten and Mühlbach every year. In addition to the vast natural scenery of the Hochkönig region, the participating huts impress the guests with their regional offerings. Accompanied by the hearty sounds of the folk music groups, the guests hike or ride their bikes from alpine hut to alpine hut. Guided tours with guides are also available. There is music and dancing along the paths, and in some places alphorn players and orphans play for the hikers and bikers.
Culinary journey to "forgotten" alpine specialities
When they arrive at the alpine pastures, guests can expect genuine mountain hut dishes. In culinary terms, Hochkönigroas is all about traditional dishes that have almost fallen into oblivion. Every participating hut offers such a dish for the guests. And so guests and locals can enjoy a Schott's soup, Pofesen, Bladl or the classic Pinzgauer Muas on this day.
Guided hikes to the participating huts
On the certified hiking trails you can experience the beauty of the Hochkönig region in all its facets in summer. The tours through the extensive hiking area are varied - from easy to challenging routes, Hochkönigroas has the right hike for every level of fitness. If you want to enjoy the Hike to the fullest, it is best to join a guided hike. Since you can't be everywhere at once, a guided tour starts in all three places.
With the ebike from alpine hut to alpine hut - with or without guide
If you want to reach even more huts on this day, you can of course use the mountain bike or e-bike. The marked cycle paths always lead through beautiful landscape and intact nature. Even at Hochkönigroas cyclists do not have to do without their motor. There is the possibility to commute by electric bike between the participating huts - either on your own or as part of a guided e-bike tour. A bike guide will show you the desired route, while the guests can enjoy the breathtaking panorama, music and culinary delights to the full.
