The Hochkönigroas is one of the most popular summer hikes in the country and attracts countless guests to Maria Alm, Dienten and Mühlbach every year. In addition to the vast natural scenery of the Hochkönig region, the participating huts impress the guests with their regional offerings. Accompanied by the hearty sounds of the folk music groups, the guests hike or ride their bikes from alpine hut to alpine hut. Guided tours with guides are also available. There is music and dancing along the paths, and in some places alphorn players and orphans play for the hikers and bikers.
Culinary journey to "forgotten" alpine specialities
When they arrive at the alpine pastures, guests can expect genuine mountain hut dishes. In culinary terms, Hochkönigroas is all about traditional dishes that have almost fallen into oblivion. Every participating hut offers such a dish for the guests. And so guests and locals can enjoy a Schott's soup, Pofesen, Bladl or the classic Pinzgauer Muas on this day.
