Winter activities in the valley and on the mountain

From geocaching to curling and tobogganing to horse-drawn sleigh rides

Fast-paced tobogganing fun for the whole family. Winter shows its most beautiful side in the Hochkönig region. One of these sides is revealed when tobogganing on the numerous and perfectly groomed toboggan runs, some of which are floodlit. A perfect change from skiing for the whole family!

Geocaching is a modern and globally popular digital treasure hunt for young and old. The basic idea is to find, swap and collect hidden caches. The best way to do this is to equip yourself with a GPS device and set off on an exciting treasure hunt along the Königstour and off-piste on a winter hike. If you prefer to search for caches in summer, that's no problem - the holiday region even offers a carefree package that perfectly combines hiking and geocaching.

Curling and then travelling through the winter in a horse-drawn carriage

The slightly more leisurely, but at least equally exciting activity to geocaching and tobogganing, is definitely curling - here it's more about the aim and concentration of the shooter. And what better way to combine this with a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride through the snow-covered mountain landscape on the Hochkönig.

Ice skating is an equally popular activity for young and old. In Maria Alm, locals and guests can enjoy this leisure activity at any time. As you enter the village, take the first fork to the left in the direction of Wirtschaftshof and you will find the ice rink on the left-hand side. Ice skates are available from AGA Sport and Sport Löb directly in Maria Alm.
