Harvest festival in the Hochkönig region

Salzburg farming culture that is alive to this day - customs, tradition, and authentic treats

The harvest festival has taken place in the state of Salzburg every year since 1995. During this festival, regional customs are celebrated. Farming culture can be seen and experienced with traditional festivals, processions, regional music and cuisine, performances, handcrafts, and markets. In the Hochkönig region, bread baking, cheese making, schnapps distilling, star-lit walks, farmer's markets, wild game weeks, folk costumes, and "Hoagaschtn" are all a part of the experience. At the "Hoagaschtn", people gather together in a lovely spot to chat, eat, drink, sing, and play music. With this in mind, we hope you enjoy a wonderful harvest festival!

The harvest festival program is loaded with highlights!

Traditional cattle drive, harvest festivals, "Schafischö" (sheep shearing), stylish folkwear fashion shows, and much more are awaiting you! Immerse yourself in your autumn vacation and indulge in freshly harvested, local delicacies while the sun warms your heart. Experience your own personal harvest festival on the peak of emotions!
